    Member Profile: Highwood Emissions Management

What does Highwood Emissions Management do?

Highwood Emissions Management (“Highwood”) is a globally recognized leader in methane accounting and reporting for the oil and gas industry. Our mission is to enable real, transparent, and provable emission reductions through best-in-class methane accounting. With a technology-agnostic approach and trusted reputation, we have earned the confidence of industry leaders, governments, and regulators. Highwood’s success is driven by meaningful metrics, scalable processes, and repeatable service offerings that ensure consistent outcomes for our clients.

To meet the oil and gas industry’s evolving methane accounting needs, Highwood developed the Emissions Intelligence Platform (EIP), a cutting-edge SaaS solution for methane accounting and business insights. EIP delivers proactive, scalable, consistent, and credible measurement-informed emissions inventories. Using systematized workflows, EIP guides users through uploading bottom-up and top-down inventories, and calculates materiality, emissions factors, uncertainties, and sample sizes, to deliver leadership ready methane analysis and reporting. These capabilities enable organizations to reconcile inventories efficiently and meet evolving regulatory and voluntary standards. The result is a reconciliation process that can be completed in minutes rather than months, allowing users to efficiently test and explore various inputs and assumptions.

Through software, consulting, and education services, we deliver the oil & gas industry's premier solutions for accurate methane inventories that enable real, transparent, and provable emission reductions.

How does Highwood Emissions Management engage with the CRIN network to enable tech development or grow the cleantech ecosystem in the oil and gas industry?

Highwood actively engages with the CRIN network and oil and gas industry stakeholders across various platforms to advance our mission: delivering industry-leading solutions for accurate methane inventories that enable real, transparent, and verifiable emission reductions.

We drive the cleantech ecosystem forward through innovative software and consulting services. In fact, EIP was developed in response to industry demand for formalized, consistent workflows for measurement-informed inventories. Collaborating with industry partners, we designed EIP to ensure credibility and consistency in compliance with regulatory frameworks (EU, EPA, CDPHE) and voluntary standards (OGMP 2.0, Veritas, DOE MMRV, MiQ).

Beyond software, our team of consultants and subject-matter experts—backed by strong industry relationships and an independent reputation—have played a key role in shaping both regulatory and voluntary initiatives. We directly contributed to the development of MiQ and Veritas protocols and have supported policy development efforts in both Canada and the US.

Lastly, through our blog and the Highwood Bulletin, we provide free regular updates on emissions management news, novel research, and expert insights from our team and partners. Highwood also offers live and virtual seminars quarterly, educating industry professionals and interested parties on methane emissions and sources, emerging voluntary and regulatory standards, methane accounting, emissions detection and forecasting, and the value of methane mitigation.

How can CRIN members support Highwood Emissions Management?

CRIN and its members can support Highwood by elevating industry awareness of the cleantech ecosystem and advancing our vision of near-zero oil & gas methane emissions through software, consulting, and education. By fostering collaboration through networking and knowledge sharing, CRIN can accelerate the adoption of Highwood’s EIP software and consulting services, driving growth in the oil & gas cleantech sector.
