Emissions Testing Centre

This Tourmaline Oil Corp. panel discussion featured Tim Shaw of Tourmaline, Tim Egan, President and CEO of the Canadian Gas Association, who also leads CGA Enterprises Inc. and the Natural Gas Innovation Fund Capital Corporation, Scott Volk, Director of Emissions & Innovation at Tourmaline Oil Corp., and Dr. Ian Gates, Associate Vice President (Research & Innovation), Director, Global Research Initiative in Sustainable Low Carbon Unconventional Resources, and Professor in Department of Chemical and Petroleum Engineering at the University of Calgary.

Egan shared details about the origins and focus of the Emissions Testing Centre, which is now located on a site owned by Tourmaline Oil Corp.

The centre aims to create a pipeline of new technology ideas, streamline commercialization pathways to help entrepreneurs move their projects forward more quickly, and accelerate market adoption and scale-up by doing the testing on-site with a producer.

"We're effectively creating an ecosystem of new technology ideas that ultimately can move into the market more quickly, drive forward innovation, thereby driving down methane emissions and continuing to have a successful natural gas industry that's delivering fundamentally what's most important: affordable, reliable, and acceptable energy for Canadians and our customers around the world," said Egan.
