    CRIN Board of Directors Updates

CRIN has a new Board Chair following the October 1, 2024 Annual General Meeting. Douglas Freel is the new chair, taking over from Ginny Flood, who has been Board Chair since September 2020. Welcome, Douglas!

At the AGM, CRIN President Joy Romero thanked Ginny and outgoing board member Jason Switzer for all their contributions to the network.

"Both Ginny and Jason have been with CRIN since Day 1," Joy said. "They sat with us as we dreamt what CRIN could be, as we formed CRIN, as we went through all of the stages of interfacing, growing, the vision, bringing up projects, what were the sectors that we were to meet, and have spent countless hours thinking of things to make CRIN work...I can't thank you, Ginny, and Jason enough."

Douglas Freel was previously Treasurer for the CRIN Board of Directors. Douglas retired from his position of Managing Director at ARC Financial Corporation in Calgary in 2022. During his 24 years there, he focused on the oilfield services segment of ARC's oil and gas investments. He continues to represent ARC on some of its boards. Prior to joining ARC in 1998, he spent nine years with Schlumberger serving in a variety of overseas locations. He holds an MBA from the University of Toronto and a BSc in Engineering from Queen's University.

The new Treasurer for the CRIN Board of Directors is Dagmar Knutson, and CRIN is welcoming a new board member, John Zhou.

"John has also been with CRIN since Day 1 at the Steering Committee level," Joy noted. "We are very, very grateful for John joining the board."

Joy also extended her thanks to all board members, CRIN volunteers, and CRIN members.

"CRIN's accomplishments this year could not have happened without the efforts of CRIN members," she said. "I am so grateful for the contributions, wisdom, and support of everyone involved; our board, our senior leaders, and a core group of approximately 150 volunteers who share their time and technical expertise to help move us closer to achieving our vision."
