From Light Tight Oil to Kerogen: Designing Solvents for Difficult Extraction Processes

November 8 @ 11:30 am - 1:15 pm

COSIA and CRIN’s Novel Hydrocarbon Extraction Theme group are pleased to co-host with University of Calgary’s Dr. Steven Bryant and Dr. Paula Berton from Canada Excellence Research Chair (CERC) in Materials Engineering for Unconventional Oil Reservoirs as they explore applications for ionic liquids in tight oil, kerogens in oil shales, and bitumen from oil sands.

Participants will discuss this evolving case study, offering constructive feedback and sharing their experiences with moving similar technologies forward. This event will be full of lessons that can be applied in a wide range of novel hydrocarbon production development and deployment scenarios.
